Actually, PH manga scans have gradients you can follow. In my PH wall, I made some gradients up, but there's quite a bit that was already on the scan.
Wow nice specs, I think my comp needs a format. Things are getting slow, it starts having issues once the file gets bigger than around 25mb which is really irritating me since most of my walls are bigger than that.

I’d really like to try vexelling, or at least cell-shading with crap-loads of transparent layers. XD It makes things so shiny. :D But again, I don’t think I’d be able to make-up that kind of shading myself. >_> Oh well, after exams are over I’ll have heaps of time to start messing around in PS, or at least get walling again. D:

I love Oz’s song. <3 It’ so depressing and upbeat at the same time. lol I don’t know how that works but it’s completely true. XD Someone on the forums said that the only way they could imagine Gil singing that song was if he was completely wasted. XD Mental images of Gil dancing on a table abound. lol I didn’t notice the samba-stlye until someone else said something, and I still don’t notice it really, it’s only because I can imagine Gil singing it with a rose in his teeth. *shot* Oh God, the mental image. XD But dancing to it is the funest thing ever. Lol
Pretty much all anime step-up relationships between guys to reel in the fangirls. XD Even the really popular and really shounen ones like Yuugi Ou and Naruto, but half the characters from those two were incredibly gay in the manga anyway. lol Well if we girls constantly have to live through fanservice for the boys then they have to put up woth outs too. >D
The next DVD omake is going to be a continuation of the Pandora Gakuen omake! 8d And the last one with Alice and Echo was mind-numbingly cute. <3
I’m in the middle of vectoring one of Gil’s character sketches from the guidebook, but I had to combine it with two other scans and redraw heaps so I hope the lineart doesn’t end up looking like crap because of my craptastic drawing skills. >_> Plus it’s got Raven in it and birds are weird to vector. XD

I'm not good at tutorials but the gist of it goes like this

I first just made the image black and white then I wanted to make it brighter so I went to brightness/contrast... around 70 brightness and 20 contrast.

Then I used a watercolor filter on a duplicated layer, settings were around 12, 1, and 2.

Then I set it to multiply and merged the layers

After that I made a new layer and played around with brushes that made water color looks.

Then I added a mask to that layer and made sure I had the mask selected. I inverted the mask cltr+i

When you click off the mask you should have that effect. Good luck!

Cause you need a layer for each of the different colours and then more for the gradients @_@ My computer started lagging near the end. But it really shouldn't since people seem to be working with 200+mb files and my specs aren't that bad... >_>

I cell-shaded the one that you first commented on. :D I like cell-shading because I absolutely love gradients. XD But since I can’t make it up I can only use it if I’m vectoring an anime scan. D: But manga scans are usually better drawn/prettier. lol Before I got this computer with its 500 GB hardrive I couldn’t believe it when people’s original filesizes were over 100 MB, it took at least 2 minutes to save my 30+ MB PDSs! 0_o Now I can open 71 MB files in two seconds. <3

The one of little Sharon on Break’s lap is so cute! <3 I really want to wall some of those sketches but they always have things like hands and stuff missing that I can’t redraw. T_T The one of Gil with the chains and Raven in the BG is just…too hot for words. XD But his hand is missing. T_T

Oh, and reading through the posts in your GB (lol sorry) Illustrator is easy, I taught myself. :D It's just expensive, my Technology teacher gave me permission to get it installed on my laptop, even though it's only supposed to be for the girls that use it for their schoolwork. SCORE. XD But I'm supposed to uninstall when I leave school...which I'm not sure I can. XD It's makes vectoring so much easier, but then I'll feel guilty if I don't delete it. lol

For the vector, you just get your shapes for the shadow and highlights then slap on some gradients. I actually found it faster than painting/smudging. The only downside is that you end up a ridiculous number of shapes, a very large file and a laggy computer XD
About the trees, I'll put something together for you. Will be able to explain better with pictures, it's pretty easy actually.

I can’t make up cell-shading/shapes to save myself. XD I really like how you did the hair. <3 The cell-shaded wall I did of Gil and Oz had so many freakin’ layers! I gave up naming them, I guess painting does have some advantages. XD

But you can’t change any of the Mt links, headers or the colour of the bar with everyone’s name/icon without CSS. I’m not even going to try; it’s not worth the time. I read the forum topic on it and gave up; it made no sense to me. D: I STILL DON’T KNOW HTML. *Fails* The only thing I like about the new system is the bigger icons. lol I wish I could do more to my UP, but It’s just a UP and it would take me so much time so I’ll just do the absolute minimum and leave it alone. T_T

I hate dubbed stuff. I think it's the difference in the speed of languages. English dubs always tend to talk slow, making the characters sound monotone and stupid somehow. I don't know, the expressions and emotions only seem to come out right when it's in Jap.
Yeah I know what you mean. As an ep it was pretty good. But as an ending, it lacked a climax =/ I guess since the manga's nowhere near finished, they couldn't pull too much out of thin air so they focused more on Oz's growth and development.
Lol is there a full picture of Gil in a dress? That picture of Oz is so love <3 I've been staring at it for a while *_* I want mooooore D:

I use to watch dubs but know that I know Japanese it’s horrific to hear English coming out of their mouths for some reason. XD Besides, the Japanese language and their voices are so much cuter than English. <3 And they overact like crazy in English, in Japanese they just use their speaking voices and alter it to the characters age, unless the character does overact – like Vincent in the omakes. XD Kosuke Toriumi sounds the same as Gil and on the Radio CDs as himself, just a little deeper. Plus you get character songs. 8d And so many Japanese voice actors are singers! Or at least really good without trying. XD
Which was weird since they ignored all of Oz’s emotions before that episode. >_>
The only other picture of ‘Giruko-chan’ (I love that name XD) is the one from the first drama CD, I thought it was Barma before I listened to the CD. XD

Oo I got the second OST, it’s more amazing than the first! 0_o Especially Lacie on the piano, and “Everytime You kissed Me” is growing on me, she had a little too much of the popstar whine going on at first for me. XD And “Confidence” and “Miracle” are <3 <3 <3, pretty much everything after the piano piece is. And “Reminisence 2” from Gil and Oz being adorable in ep. 23. *Durhurhur* And “Do It Later” makes me lol. XD
I’ll try and get some good photos of the pocketwatch, my mum’s camera currently can’t focus on it. ^_^’ But I feel really cool every time I press the top and it opens, like the start of the PH opening. XD *fails*
The show was AMAZING, my favourite was this car dress. XD There were lots of dance and musical performances during the costume changes as well. The Topp Twins (who are like, NZ national icons XD) preformed as well which was an unexpected treat. :D

Haha, yeah those English companies that promotes them really ruin the image of anime. But then again, in Western society, cartoons mostly equal to something for little kids so I guess it would be a lot harder to promote the material for older kids. I had blue, red, and yellow glow sticks. <3 The blue was really pretty like ice, and the red ones made good mini light sabers. XD
I remember when I was little and you use to count the days until your birthday from months away, now my parents are like, “So, it’s your Birthday in a week – ” and I’m like, oh crap really? XD
Ha ha don’t worry, I probably won’t have an internet connection until late on the 3rd of October, but I was late with your present anyway. XD
It’s like outfits made of unusual stuff, this year’s winner was a dress made entirely out of wood, even her wig. XD All the entries are displayed in a really amazing show, I can’t wait~

Lol yeah, chibis would be awesome. The DVD specials are probably the closest we've ever gotten.

We have a black boxy-thing that says “Cable Modem” on it, whatever that is. XD The usage chart shows what we used in red and what it calls “Upstream – Data sent from customer” in orange, and last night something used 180mb of orange while we were all in bed asleep. >_> But if you pull the cable out of the boxy thing nothing can get used so I think there’s a shared file on the computer somewhere that I’m not aware I downloaded. D:
I adjusted to PS really fast because it’s layout is simple – a menu across the top and a little bar with buttons, in SAI the whole friggin’ window was taken up with buttons and windows. It’s like OVER 9000 times buttons. XD
My parents trust me enough that the fanservice is not what I watch anime for, we’ve had talks about it. XD I have to have a lot of talks with my parents about amine and manga, mostly to convince them to let me spend my money on it. lol The hardest thing to convince them about was anything Yuugi Ou related, because thanks to 4Kids everyone thinks it’s for 3 year-olds. Haha you get used to waiting for new episodes and chapters. Sometimes when I can't wait for the scanlation/fansub to come out, I go watch/read the RAW (if I can find them). Pity I usually don't understand much, but it's good enough to satisfy some cravings XD Plus, when I watch things in a chunk, half way through the series, I go watch the last episode and then get bored of it cause I already know what happens. Not good.
Yeah the majority of Fall season is fanservice. I don't bother with those stuff and wouldn't go near them with a 10 ft pole. Waste of my bandwidth, honestly. Well, maybe it's a good thing. Less anime = more study.... or not >_>

I hate paying more for extra download, our old plan was like that. But then, being capped sucks a lot when you really need to use the net. We signed up some 50gb (25 onpeak + 25 offpeak) plan less than a year ago, but now the company's got some new offer on for 80gb (40+40) for the same price. I was so pissed =.=;; we do go over every now and then and I always have to keep an eye on our download. Being capped is such a painful thing, and the days left till the new month feels like forever away ;_;

I’ve never kept up with an anime or manga as it’s coming out before so waiting a week for each episode of PH and a whole month for a new chapter has been ridiculously stressful. XD I just see something pretty on MT and decided to watch it, I’ve never followed seasons or anything. XD For fall I like the look of Kobato and that’s it. ^_^’ Half of them look pretty but are based on 18+ PC games, and fanservice makes me uncomfortable as Hell so I dunno. >_> Maybe I’ll just watch a few of the first episodes and then download them if they aren’t horribly fanserviced. XD But I totally want to watch the anime version of Lilo and Stitch! 8d

It’s supposed to be from sending stuff, we had a problem a while back where bit torrents were using all of our broadband but the other day it used around 350 MBs and I didn’t send anything. T_T We used to use a download manager that could block seeds but now Vista can just download everything itself so I don’t know how to block them anymore. D:
Nobody knows what the heck Xebec is doing. XD We reckon they’re trying to wrap it up by ep. 25 because there’ll be no second season but that’ll leave way too much unexplained in the anime, plus you’d think they would have set about sooner than 3 episodes before the end! >_>
I hate camp. XD But it was okay because it was just leadership camp since my year are the 7th formers next year so it was just team-building and no bloody outdoor activities. XD But I don’t see why we couldn’t have done that at school. >_>

Despite what people say about Vista, I like it. Probably because I don't play hardcore games and such. It’s 1680x1050 pixels and 22 inches diagonally. :3 It’s a pretty big step-up since our old monitor was 800x600. XD Vista is okay but it still does a lot of stupid things, like the menu is really annoying, and it refuses to display desktop images in the quality the original picture that you used is. >_> I’ve never heard of Aero, but in a few months we get the update to Windows 7 – when I’ll just be used to Vista. D: I love windows+tab! XD I find it quite useful, sometimes I have heaps of windows open and I can’t tell what they are from the taskbar so I use that – it’s also fun. XD
I can’t touch type so I have to read over everything I’ve written and correct it when I’ve hit too many keys or something, so that takes me ages and it hurts more than using the mouse because I have to type with my hands up so I can see the letters and that strains my wrists. T_T Plus I’m lazy and it recognises the crappiest hand-writing. XD It doesn’t recognise my hiragana writing when I have it on Japanese though. ^_^’ Tablets are fantastic for painting though, painting with a mouse is like painting in real life with a brick. XD

Aww, don't say that. Obviously people appreciated your cosplay at the con ^^ Plus, cosplay is something fun and crazy to do with a bunch of friends. Half the really pretty photos on the net are of models anyways. Me and my friend wanted to cosplay Vampire Knight last year, but she pulled out cause the costumes were too expensive =[ On ebay they were going for about 100aud including shipping @_@ They were really pretty though, they even come with all rose-shaped buttons and stuff. I was drooling over the male uniforms and lamented about how I'm too short to cosplay any of the guys in VK T_T And sewing is just... beyond me. Plus my mum sold our sewing machine... lol.
The 07 Ghost episodes I download from there works fine for me. I don't have to convert it or anything. Have tried installing some codecs? They usually help.

My laptop and the new computer have the exact same codecs installed and the 07-Ghost episodes work on my laptop and not the computer – and the laptop’s older. And every time it suggests certain codecs missing might be the problem I already have them. >_> Whatever, I downloaded up to episode ep. 10 of 07-Ghost today, I cried so hard in ep. 9. XD But now I only have 310 MBs of broadband left until the 20th. ^_^’ Hopefully that’ll get me the 2 episodes of PH that’ll be out before then, and they’re going to be the random anime original plot Xebec’s come up with – I can’t wait. >D Especially for this, which confuses me like woah. XD Xebec amped up the OzGil so much in the anime – which you’d think would be impossible since Mochizuki’s such a fangirl over those two. XD Though I’m annoyed that they’re not continuing on with animating the manga as of yet – we were almost at animating Retrace 35 when Oz and Gil were being so freakin’ adorable. >.<

My friends were doing a Death Note cosplay and neede an L, so I volunteered because it consists of baggy clothes and your face near-completely covered in hair so it’s kind of hard to feel self-conscious. lol And everyone who’s seen Death Note loves L, like everyone. Seriously, one girl screamed when she saw me - it would be such a good way to pick-up chicks if you were a guy. XD I really want to cosplay more but I feel like I’m doing a disservice to the characters by not being skinny and pretty, we only have one con a year, and I can’t afford it. >_> It would help my sewing so much too. I think you mess around expanding and contracting the selection it gets a bit smoother. But yeah, I'm having a lot of trouble with jagged outlines. Thin lines are especially notorious for doing that. Why doesn't photoshop have anti-aliasing for the pentool?

We have a huge Japanese bookstore here called Kinokuniya (I think it's a chain from Japan), with walls full of manga in English, Japanese and Chinese <3 Since most of the English ones are not packaged, people just treat it like a library and stand around reading them XD Do you guys have conventions? OMG you have Kinokukiya?! I am SO jealous. XD I’ve been ordering all my Japanese books from Amazon Japan, shipping is $45 NZD plus another $5 for each item. T_T Borders has a large range of English manga here but they’re over $20 each. T_T And of course you have to wait fro them to be liscenced and translated – PH isn’t available in English here until January next year and then one new volume every three months. T_T We have one convention a year in each of the 3 main cities, I went for the first time last year and cosplayed for the first time as well – I have never been so adored by random strangers. XD
Well, I only get 5 GB of broadband a month and when I use more dad makes me pay for it. T_T

Well, for Wolfram we have Taiyou wo Mitsumete Iru and Owarani Bouken, and for Yuuri there’s Shiro to Kuro and Be Alright. There’s also Sora Kakeru Tsurugi which is Conrart and Wolfram. <3
I absolutely LOVE Taiyou wo Mitsumete Iru, and the lyrics are absolutely adorable and entirely about Yuuri. <3 The whole song is about the ‘sun’ and there’s even the analogy that Yuuri is the sun in the series. XD
God I love KKM. XD I really need to find somewhere to watch the 3rd season. >_>

Haha don't watch the Kuroshitsuji anime, read the manga. It's way better. The anime original arcs are crappy, I didn't watch it all either.

But yeah, research other pictures really help when you have no idea what to do XD For lighting you just pick a light source and make sure the parts facing the light source on every object is lighter than the other side. I'm probably the total opposite. Everything has to make physical sense otherwise I won't know what to do @_@ Let's learn from each other XD I want to make a really whacky wall some day XD
Lol even non-rasterized lines aren't smooth. It annoys me so much sometimes x_x I get lazy sometimes and do a tacky job tracing for colour and it never works out. I -always- end up having to go back and fix it up with the paintbrush or eraser @_@

My trouble with lighting is getting the darker and lighter colours right – you shade yellow with orange and orange with red – not just dark yellow and dark orange, it’s bloody confusing. XD But then what the fudge an I supposed to use for shading red other than dark red? D: Dark red just makes the brighter red look faded. >_>
I made a really massive vector in Adobe Illustrator and I could use the magic wand tool for that because the lines were so smooth at that size – but there’s no way I could get away with that for a full-body vector only 1200 pixels high because it makes the lines so small and rough. >_>

Sorry, I haven't been reading the manga >_< I kinda read a little of of the spoilers a while back and it sounded like things were getting darker. And I can't stand reading sad things until I know there's a happy ending to it all D: I'll probably catch up with it soon though, I feel like I'm falling behind too much >_<

Oh God the manga is amazing right now, it is depressing but there’s so much cute in there too – mainly 9 year-old Gil and Vincent, and Jack having the mental capacity of a 3 year-old. XD Gil and Oz are getting their fair share in there too. <3 But yeah, Gil regaining his memories was really upsetting and the next chapter looks quite foreboding too. 0_o

Yeah it took me ages to figure out how to do trees and stuff properly. Some bits are still pretty messed up. But let me know if you need any help, I'll try to help if I can XD But I find the best way to do a scenery that you have no idea how to set out is just to google, for example, pictures of gardens to help create the layout. I know I can't pull a design out of my head just like that, I'm no landscaper XD

I’m really bad with getting the depth into scenery which is what your garden wall did so well. <3 Guu I hate lighting. >.< That’s why I like walling PH – you can just makes some nonsensical BG and say they’re in the Abyss and there’s 50 million light sources ‘cause that place is whack. XD Ah well, I guess it’s all just practice. :3 Using the magic wand tool still leaves nasty lines around the edges because rasterized lines aren’t perfectly smooth, I hate how there’s no easy way to do it! D:

Haha, I had my eyes on that OzxGil scan. But like a lot of other scans, it's just sitting untouched in my "I-might-eventually-wall-one-day" folder. I'd love to see what you do with it :D That little Gil and Vincent scan is really cute ^^
I guess, because PH is a show more for girls, the pweeeeetty boys get all the (well-deserved) attention and Alice is kinda like the main female character. So naturally, poor Sharon gets left out.
I don't think I've really developed a walling style yet, it keeps changing depending on the scan @_@ I'm trying to work on a KHR wall. But due to some stuff, I keep wanting to drop it x_x I don't know what to do anymore, since I'm halfway through already, ugh >_<

I think the creepy part is how much he seems to enjoy dressing in drag; he even had heels. XD
I know! It really bothers me raven never gets any screen time, we saw it in full in episode 11 but it never gets to do anything. I love ravens, too; I was excited when it was Gil’s chain. lol
What surprised me is that PH is supposed to be shounen manga, but when the author is a woman I think the manga will always be full of pretty boys. XD But I think most of the manga published in G-Fantasy (which is supposed to a shounen magazine) are like that. I know Kuroshitsuji is just like PH – all the action but enough yaoi hints to keep the girls interested. XD Oh God, have you read Retrace 40? The OzGil angst went through the roof. D: I’m hoping for lots of apologising hugs next chapter. XD
But yeah, after Sharon’s epicness in episode 20 I think she’s gained a lot more respect – mostly through fear. XD
Guu, I hope there’s at least a few new images in the artbook, the cover is new though. <3 But it’s 168 pages and I don’t think there’s been that many images released yet. 0_o Plus I’m getting the PH 2010 calender which has this image, so I’m pretty sure that will get walled when it arrives. >D
Having a particular walling style comes from a lot of practice, I think. Mine is just sort of ‘manage-whatever-I-can.’ XD But I wish I could paint backgrounds like you. 0_o That garden scene you did was like what I trying to make for the scan of Gil and Vin, but I can’t draw or paint scenery to save myself. ^_^’ That last wall I submitted I finished enough of it to turn it into a splash page for a contest and then left it for over a month because I couldn’t be stuffed painting anymore. X_x I did the lineart for 4 more walls in as many days and then didn’t do anything again until a couple of days ago. XD; But I find it really hard to get past doing the base colours - I’ve just spent ages making all those lines and then I have to follow them to make shapes under them all over again. I hate it. D<
